Egyptian traffic campaign nets 107,000-plus violations in 24 hours

Interior Ministry traffic campaigns across Egypt have resulted in wide-ranging enforcement actions, including drug-testing of drivers, over a single day.

• Authorities recorded 107,546 traffic violations, including driving without licenses, speeding, and illegal parking.
• Security personnel tested 1,126 drivers for drug use, finding 39 positive cases.
• On the Regional Ring Road, officers issued 439 violations, checked 154 drivers, and found 5 positive for drug use.
• The Ring Road sweep also detained six wanted persons facing eight court orders and impounded two vehicles.
