Egypt's Global Fatwa Index publishes September "Fatwa Trends" report

Egypt's Global Fatwa Index has released the 55th edition of its "Fatwa Trends" bulletin, surveying the top religious topics and fatwa questions of September.
- The index reported family and personal-status issues topped domestic Egyptian trends at 28.6%, followed by digital and technological questions at 21.4%.
- Family topics included the "marriage certificate business," impersonating marriage officiators, and obtaining pensions through customary marriage.
- Digital topics covered sharing unverified news and the use of artificial intelligence to produce extremist propaganda.
- The index said Saudi Arabia led Arab-region trends at 29%, followed by Libya at 21% and Qatar at 18%.
