Ronaldo tops Ballon d'Or 'best of all time' fan vote

Organizers launched a paid online vote to pick the greatest Ballon d'Or-winning season ever, with Cristiano Ronaldo's 2008 campaign leading early results.

• Organizers opened the "B.O.A.T" (Ballon d'Or of All Time) audience vote, charging one euro per ballot with unlimited votes allowed.
• Preliminary figures show Ronaldo's 2008 season at Manchester United leading with 62% of the vote, ahead of Messi's 2012 edition with 13%.
• The shortlist covers ten multi-time winners, including Ronaldo, Messi, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Platini, and Ronaldo Nazario.
• The Ballon d'Or account said voting remains open until the eve of the October 26 ceremony in London.
