A US judge has ordered President Donald Trump to answer questions under oath by 11 December, threatening sanctions in his defamation lawsuit against the BBC.
- Judge Enjoliqué Lett ordered Trump to sit for a deposition by 11 December, warning failure could bring sanctions, including possible dismissal.
- Lett rejected a request to keep the seven-hour deposition from being videotaped and gave Trump's team 30 days to hand over documents.
- Trump is suing the BBC over a Panorama episode that spliced together two parts of his 6 January 2021 speech before the Capitol riot.
- The BBC apologised for the broadcast, saying it gave the mistaken impression that Trump called for violence, and asked the court to dismiss the suit.
