Zamalek has rejected a $1 million bid from Libya's Ahly Benghazi for left-back Ahmed Fotouh and opened talks to renew his expiring contract.
- Zamalek media director Maher Gharib confirmed the club rejected Ahly Benghazi's $1 million bid for Fotouh and told his agent it refuses all sale or loan offers.
- Gharib said Zamalek also rejected a Konyaspor bid at the start of the season, with renewals proceeding according to club interests.
- The board assigned member Hussein El-Sayed to negotiate Fotouh's renewal; his contract ends at season's end and he may sign for any club from January.
- Zamalek plans to extend Omar Gaber's contract and renew Mehdi Soliman and Mohamed Awad, while Abdullah El-Said intends to retire at season's end.
- Gharib said nine other players also have contracts expiring at season's end, questioning why attention centers on Fotouh.
- Gharib said renewal policy changed since Zizo's departure and the club cannot meet all player demands, citing Abdel Maguid's exit.
