HBO brings back Girls for five-episode limited run

HBO has announced a five-episode revival of Girls, a decade after the series finale, with production to begin in 2027.

• The revival will reunite Lena Dunham with original cast members Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Andrew Rannells, and Judd Apatow as executive producer.
• Dunham announced the revival in a mock Zoom call, saying the cast would only return "if there was a specific story we were burning to tell."
• Girls earned 19 Emmy nominations and two wins over six seasons from 2012 to 2017.
