About 50 volunteers from Northamptonshire community larders have collected 34 tonnes of uneaten food from the British Grand Prix event.
- Volunteers clocked more than 1,000 hours of service to salvage 34 tonnes of food from the Silverstone race track.
- Katie Steele from the Towcester group said the collections ended on Friday and were made possible by teamwork.
- Steele said the groups had helped about 3,000 people through pop-up shops that were open to all.
- Steele said the volunteers also rescued a carpet and donated it to a family who had no carpets upstairs.
