Trump downplays reports of Chinese satellite images supplied to Iran ahead of Xi visit

Trump has dismissed reports that Chinese entities supplied Iran satellite imagery before a July attack on a US base in Jordan, saying Beijing does what Washington does.

• Trump told reporters on Air Force One that China's espionage mirrors US activity, adding that "they basically do what we do."
• The Wall Street Journal reported Chinese entities supplied Iran satellite images of the Muwaffaq Salti air base before and after a July attack that killed three US soldiers.
• Chinese officials asked Washington for evidence of the allegations and refused to acknowledge involvement by Chinese entities.
• Xi Jinping's White House visit is scheduled for September 24, ahead of which Trump said Xi "behaved reasonably."
