Al-Azhar's Grand Imam receives veterans of the 1973 October War

Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb hosted retired special forces officers who fought in the 1973 war, marking the anniversary of Egypt's October victory.

• El-Tayeb said the October victory remains evidence of the Egyptian people's and armed forces' ability to overcome crises and restore land and dignity.
• The veterans recounted wartime missions, saying some spent more than 200 days behind enemy lines on reconnaissance and special operations.
• The delegation presented El-Tayeb with the special forces shield at the meeting's conclusion.
