A technical fault at NATS's Prestwick control centre has disrupted flights across Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland, the service's second issue in a fortnight.
- NATS said engineers were investigating a technical issue at its Prestwick centre and applied air traffic regulations to manage traffic demand.
- Airlines British Airways and easyJet reported cancellations, with analysts Cirium counting at least 24 flights cancelled across UK airports.
- A NATS spokesperson said the fault was unrelated to the earlier incident and that airports south of Manchester were broadly unaffected.
- The fault comes less than two weeks after a NATS incident in England that disrupted hundreds of thousands of passengers.
