Three Arrested in Fraud Investigation at University of Greater Manchester

Two men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering, fraud, and bribery in a probe involving over £1 million in alleged financial crimes at the university.

• Greater Manchester Police executed warrants at five addresses and arrested a woman in her 50s and two men in their 60s.
• The arrests are part of an investigation into alleged fraudulent activity involving 60 transactions and more than one million emails, police said.
• Assistant Chief Constable Rick Jackson said the investigation is complex and detectives are compiling evidence for a potential prosecution.
• The Office for Students formally announced its own investigation into the university’s management and governance last December.
